Endless Horizons: Colors of the IOWA Plains
This series invites contemplation of the quiet beauty of the plains of Iowa, where the vastness of the land meets infinite skies. Born in Peru, a land shaped by mountains, my imagination was captured by the flatness of the plains and their interplay with light and life. From sunrise to sunset and with the serene glow of the night, light transforms the land into a vibrant canvas of color and texture. Each season unveils its palette, from winter’s snowy stillness to summer’s lush greens, autumn’s golden hues, and spring’s renewal. Scattered farms, groves, and prairies mirror the resilience of families who thrive from and alongside the land. The land is alive with light, rhythm, and a humble magnificence, celebrating the connection between humanity and nature. More than a place, it’s an active participant in life’s stories, a testament to the enduring dynamics between land, light, and life.

I personally handle all stages of the photographic process, from concept, capture, editing, curating, printing and framing. The following are views of the actual finished framed prints. The choice of metallic fine art paper is very deliberate: the metallic surface, paired with a strong spotlight, allows me to visually reproduce the luminance perceived in nature:
These are giclée prints, which means they are made on archival (acid-free) paper and with pigment inks which will not fade or shift in color for decades under proper display or storage conditions.
They further receive a coat of varnish to protect them from UV rays and dust or contaminants. Finally, after framing, I include a label on the back containing the photograph details as well as contact information (as seen in the picture).
