I had the pleasure of participating in the workshop On the Creative Processes, taught by Claude Bussac and facilitated by our friends at Zona Zero. The culmination of the workshop came as an exhibition of photography and imagery inspired by the tale El Recado (The Message) by laureate mexican writer Elena Poniatowska Amor. The exhibition is part of the PHotoESPAÑA 2023 international photography festival and it opened to the public today at the Poniatowska Foundation in Mexico City. The tale is short and delightful in the many interpretations that it inspires. It furthermore makes a masterful use of a narrator in second person, making the connection with the reader feel even stronger. Motivated by this, I conceived a narration of the tale in video format, which I invite you to watch here. Spanish subtitles are available which contain the original text of the tale.
