I have long been captivated by the properties of metal and I am finally putting years of experimentation together into a jewelry and metalsmithing collection. Having started in the visual arts, I am particularly drawn to processes akin to photography, like roll printing. In this process, a texture or relief like that of a ginkgo leave, is used to directly imprint on metal. Through this technique, a humble dried leaf or a delicate piece of fabric becomes permanently recorded into the metal matrix. With subsequent finishing and highlight elements like stones, a precious gem is born.
